The emphasis of the class will be painting from life. There will be a short lecture the first morning. The remainder of the class will be out in the field. We will spend a lot time discussing the fundamentals of creating strong paintings on location. How you start the painting is such an important part of the process. We will work on getting a solid start on your paintings, so we spend less time correcting mistakes. Learning to see and editing are other important parts of the process that we will cover. We will discuss the importance of your field work and how it relates to your studio work. Come prepared to paint two small paintings a day. There will be demos, critiques and hopefully a few laughs.
